Table tennis at the veteran level is becoming a popular sport today, especially with the efforts of three veteran associations that were established and actively operating in Istanbul since 2002. The national and international events carried out by these associations excited table tennis lovers in other cities, and veteran table tennis players established their own associations in Ankara and Bursa.

Our association is organized by veteran athletes who love table tennis, to make everyone love this sport, to increase interest in this sport, to increase the moral motivation of our members, to ensure that they are positive thinkers, respectful people to society, and to live in a healthy way, and to organize table tennis activities for people, professionals, It was established in 2007 to serve social integration by creating cooperation between chambers, associations, public-private organizations and sports clubs.

The 1st Term Board of Directors of our association aimed to open its own gym to enable people of all ages to play table tennis comfortably at international standards and started working in this direction. Both the limited salon facilities in Izmir and the economic crisis that broke out in the last quarter of 2008 and deeply affected our country had a negative impact on these studies.

Our association’s search for a hall finally came to a positive conclusion in June 2012; “İZVET ARENA” gym was opened. Our 2nd veteran tournament, which we organized on a national basis, was held in this hall for the first time on 02-03 June 2012.

With the opening of Izvet Arena, the promotion and tournament activities of our association were accelerated. In the 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons, the Autumn Open Tournament, Izmir Organizations League, Aegean Individual and Aegean Double Team Rating, National Veteran Tournament, 29 October Republic Cup Tournament, Valentine’s Day Tournament, 18 March Çanakkale Martyrs’ Memorial Tournament, 19 May Youth Cup, 30 August Victory Cup, 9 September İzmir Liberation Cup, 29 October Republic Cup Doubles Tournaments were successfully organized.

Our traditional veteran tournament, organized on a national basis, was moved out of Izmir for the first time on 12-13 April 2014 and was successfully held in Çeşme with the participation of foreign players. After this very popular and successful tournament, our Çeşme Tournament was held internationally for the first time on 1-3 May 2015. It was held very successfully with the participation of 200 foreign veteran table tennis players.

Within the scope of efforts to make our association and Çeşme Veteran Tournament international, a membership application was made to the IVTTS International Veteran Table Tennis Society (www.tt-veterans-international.com) on 21.10.2014, and our application was accepted.

Promotional stands were opened at the TMTF Super League competitions held in Izmir on 10-11 November 2012 and 08-09 March 2014, at the IZSIAD Business Days Fair between 30 November and 01 December 2012, and at the Izmir Liberation Cup tournament on 9 September, which was held outdoors for the first time in our region. has been found.

Our association completed the club formation process initiated with the authority given by our 4th Ordinary General Assembly on 25.01.2014 and gained the status of a sports club in September 2014 with the registry number 35-00785.

Izvet Men’s A team, which was formed after becoming a club, came 2nd in Izmir and our women’s team came 3rd in Izmir Clubs – Seniors Incentive Tournament held on 27-28.12.2014, in which it participated for the first time. In addition, in the inter-association age category tournament held in Şile on 30-31 May, our teams came 1st and 2nd in the men’s 40-49 age category and 1st in the women’s 40-49 age category.

In order to encourage and support physically, mentally and auditory disabled people to do this sport in accordance with our social responsibility, our association’s first physically disabled Table Tennis Team, consisting of Fatih Erden and Faruk Akbağ, was organized by the Turkish Physically Disabled Sports Federation in Sakarya on 13-15 November 2015. He became the Turkish Champion in the Turkish Table Tennis Championship. In the individual competitions, Fatih Erden became the Turkish Champion in the Individual Category and Faruk Akbağ came 2nd in Türkiye.
